Feteer Meshaltet (Kraft with Honey)

Instructions

• • Mix the dough ingredients in a stand mixer and add the water gradually while kneading till you get a smooth soft but non-sticky dough.
  • Divide the dough into 10 medium size balls and 2 bigger ones.
  • Melt the butter or ghee with the fresh cream and oil.
  • Place the dough balls in the butter mixture and let them rest covered for 30 minutes.
  • On a clean work surface, add some of the butter mixture and roll out one of the small dough balls.
  • Start from the middle with your hands and spread the dough out towards the edges to form a circle shape.
  • Add some butter mixture all over the paper-thin spread dough and then take one side and fold it to the middle of the dough then the opposite turn into the middle to overlay the first one.
  • Add half of the Kraft jar cheese filling in the middle then take the other two sides and fold each side over the filling until the middle of the dough is completely covered and becomes a square shape.
  • Set the stuffed dough aside.
  • Spread open another small dough ball that contains the butter mixture till it is paper-thin.
  • Add more butter mixture over the opened dough.
  • Place the stuffed parcel in the middle of the newly opened dough.
  • Turn the four sides of the opened dough over the stuffed one to cover it completely forming a square.
  • Repeat this process three more times with the small balls.
  • Till now, we have used a total of 5 small balls.
  • With more butter mixture spread open one of the bigger balls.
  • Place the stuffed layered parcel in the middle and wrap it from all sides, bringing the edges to the center.
  • Brush with more butter mixture and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Repeat this process with the other pieces of dough and the remainder of the filling.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°c.
  • In a baking pan add some butter mixture and spread one of the stuffed parcels.
  • Open the dough by gently pressing with the palms of your hand from the center outwards.
  • Bake it in the middle rack of the oven for 30 minutes until it’s cooked through then broil the top till golden.
  • Serve with extra Kraft jar cheese and honey.
