Preparation method
  • Combine the chickpeas, egg, salt and ground black pepper in a food processor and process until nearly smooth.
  • Transfer into a large bowl and add coriander, parsley, spring onion, lemon zest, chilli, and breadcrumbs and mix well.
  • Stir in the Kraft Cheddar Cheese. 
  • Shape the mixture into 6 patties.
  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the patties in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. 
  • Split the buns and toast, if desired.
  • Fill the buns with cheese and chickpea patties and salad ingredients.
  • Serve with a dollop of labneh.

  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • ¼ cup of mint
  • 3 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cups of wholemeal breadcrumbs
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • ½ cup of coriander, chopped
  • 800g tinned chickpeas, drained
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 red chilli, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • ½ cup of parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cans of Kraft Cheddar Cheese, finely diced
  • ½ cup of labneh
